PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control mechanism of stress-induced apoptosis by neutral sphingomyelinase 1 and to provide an analysis tool therefor.SOLUTION: Phosphorylated neutral sphingomyelinase 1 polypeptide having phosphorylated serine residue being a target of phosphorylation by JN kinase, or the partial polypeptide including the phosphorylated serine residue and having length of 10 or more amino acids. An antibody specifically recognizing the phosphorylated neutral sphingomyelinase 1 polypeptide. A mutant polypeptide of the neutral sphingomyelinase 1 in which the serine residue being the target of phosphorylation by JN kinase is replaced by an amino acid residue other than serine.
