A self-propelled forage harvester (10) is provided having a frame (12), a chopping drum (22), an accelerator (24) arranged downstream of the chopping drum (22) and a channel (48) between the chopping drum (22) and the accelerator (24). The channel (48) has a section (42) in which a conditioning unit (50) or a hollow shell (44) can be selectively inserted. The conditioning unit (50) and the hollow shell (44) are jointly supported on a pivot arm (62) pivotable by way of a displacement drive about a pivot axis running horizontally and transverse to the forward direction. The pivot arm (62) is movable between an operating position of the conditioning unit (50), in which the conditioning unit (50) is in the section (42), and a non-operating position of the conditioning unit (50), in which the shell (44) is in the section (42). The conditioning unit is mounted on the pivot arm rotatably about the pivot arm (62), about a second axis (66) parallel to the first pivot axis (64) and mounted on the pivot arm (62). The conditioning unit (50) cooperates with the frame (12) by way of a positive guide (70), so that the conditioning unit (50) rotates about second axis (66) in the same direction as the pivot arm (62) which rotates about the first pivot axis (64). |
