The invention relates to a device for generating mechanical waves in solid materials without destroying the material and is meant to be used in the field of materials science, non-destructive control, defects of material, for non-destructive measurement of thickness of some structures and elements made of various materials (metals, composites, etc). According to the invention, the device consists of a sandwich-type piezoelectric transducer formed of a piezoceramic disk () and a metal cylinder-type attenuator (), a generator card () on which there is mounted an electronic circuit for generating high voltage pulses, controlled by low voltage pulses (TTL-type), which is supplied from an adjustable stabilized source of high voltage () and from a stabilized source of low voltage (), which is protected by an RF filter (FRF) for screening the device and protecting the stabilized source () of parasitic signals generated upon the production of high voltage pulses by a high voltage chopper circuit () controlled from the outside upon the input of TTL pulses, a protection cylindrical metal housing (), a metal cover (), another metal cover () on which the piezoceramic disk () is attached, and an output connector () which ensures the connections to some connection conductors and to the ground (). |
