An electronic apparatus and a display lighting control method are disclosed. A display includes a plurality of light emitting devices. A memory part stores message data. A controller senses a request for displaying an integrated message from a user, accesses the message data stored in the memory part in response to sensing of the request from the user, checks transmission time or delivery time of the accessed message data, determines a lighting area in the area of a screen on the accessed message data is displayed based on the checked transmission time or delivery time, and performs a control operation to display the accessed message data on the display screen according to the determination result.
