PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert capable of enhancing strength of a cutting edge tip formed of an ultra-high hardness sinter body and discharging performance of swarf.SOLUTION: The cutting insert has an ultra-high hardness sinter body on a corner part of a cutting face of an insert body. On a side ridge part of the cutting face of the ultra-high hardness sinter body, a cutting edge extending from the corner part is formed. On the cutting edge, a composite radius honing 17 formed of plural round parts set so that each curvature radius generally increases as it goes toward the cutting face from the tip of the cutting edge, is formed. |
