PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker switch for a DC circuit, which includes a bidirectional current breaking function that enables current to be safely and reliably interrupted by applying the switch to a DC circuit where current flows bidirectionally.SOLUTION: In a circuit breaker switch for a DC circuit, a semiconductor switch circuit 9 is connected in parallel to a mechanical switch 7 connected to a DC line 5; and when the DC line 5 is disconnected, current flowing through the circuit is interrupted by commutating the current from the mechanical switch 7 to the semiconductor switch circuit 9. The semiconductor switch circuit 9 is constituted by a bidirectional switch circuit where two pairs of circuit arms, in which each pair of a semiconductor switching element IGBT-1 and a diode D1, and IGBT-2 and a diode D2 is connected in series in a forward direction, are connected in antiparallel to each other. The circuit current is commutated to the semiconductor switch circuit 9 during the opening operation of the mechanical switch 7 and then, IGBT is controlled to OFF, thereby enabling a bidirectional current to be interrupted without being restricted in an energizing direction of the DC line 5. |
