PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery significantly suppressed in deterioration of battery capacity in charging/discharging at a high potential of 4.5 V or more and including a collector having sufficient strength in a positive electrode.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided by the present invention includes an electrode body including a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The operation upper limit potential of the positive electrode is 4.5 V or more in terms of a metallic lithium reference potential. The positive electrode includes a collector and an active material layer formed on the collector. The collector has a base material and a surface layer provided on the surface of the base material. The surface layer is provided in a region where at least the active material layer is not formed, on the base material surface. The surface layer is formed of an aluminum material having an aluminum content of 99.85 mass% or more. The base material is made of a conductive material having higher strength than the surface layer. |
