PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and appropriate slide base isolation mechanism which has a simple configuration, can be manufactured under low cost and enables a residual displacement to be sufficiently restricted.SOLUTION: This slide base isolation mechanism comprises an upper guide member 13, a lower guide member 14 and a sliding member 15 placed between these guide members. The sliding member is held to be slidable only in one horizontal direction in respect to the upper guide member and further held to be slidable only in the other horizontal direction in respect to the lower guide member. Sliding surfaces of the sliding member and the upper guide member are constituted such that the first upper slant surfaces 16a, 18a and the second upper slant surfaces 16b, 18b of the same area slanted by the same angle to each other in opposite directions along one horizontal direction with respect to a horizontal plane are arranged side by side in the other horizontal direction, and sliding surfaces of the sliding member and the lower guide member are constituted such that the first lower slant surfaces 17a, 19a and the second lower slant surfaces 17a, 19a of the same area slanted by the same angle to each other in opposite directions along the other horizontal direction with respect to a horizontal plane are arranged side by side in one horizontal direction. |
