The invention relates to a process for directly determining the isotopic ratio of the strontium in liquid solutions by using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with quadrupole and a single detector. According to the invention, the method consists in determining the isotopic ratio of strontium by using a quadrupole for discriminating ions and a single detector without requiring supplementary operations on the sample, once this is in a liquid and homogenous solution.
