BATTERY PACK INCLUDING ASSISTANT BATTERY, MOVING OBJECT AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

The present invention relates to a battery pack embedding an assistant battery, a moving object using the same and a control method thereof. The battery pack according to the present invention comprises: a main battery where a plurality of battery cells are serially connected; an assistant battery having serially connected battery cells whose number is less than the main battery; and a battery management system module for controlling charging or discharging operations of the main battery and the assistant battery, and supplying power of the assistant battery to an external device after using storage capacity of the main battery. The present invention may more efficiently operate battery power because remaining a margin in the capacity of the main battery is not needed. Additionally, it is advantageous that the battery pack including the assistant battery according to the present invention may be simply applied to an apparatus installing and operating an existing battery without changing a power system. Additionally, it is advantageous that power exhaustion of the main battery may be easily checked without a complex algorithm so an unmanned moving object may be more stably operated.
