<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor that ensures safety without lowering operation efficiency even when placed in inspection operation with steps detached for maintenance inspection operation.SOLUTION: In a step S6, a control device determines whether an escalator is in normal operation or inspection operation. This determination is made according to the state of a switch. The control device moves to a step S7 for the inspection operation (when Y) or to a step S8 for the normal operation (when N). In the step S7, the control device determines that steps are absent because of inspection maintenance since the steps are absent on the escalator in the inspection operation, and makes a buzzer sound through a speaker so as to attract operator's attention. In the step S8, the control device determines that the steps are absent in the normal operation, stops a driving device so as to ensure passenger's safety, and stops a circulation travel of the steps.</p> |
