VIBRATION DAMPER FOR HOLE MACHINING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damper for a drill tube of a hole machining apparatus.SOLUTION: The damper comprises a closed loop bi-directional adjustment mechanism (bi-directional drive mechanism), which is operated from one side of the damper. The closed loop mechanism ensures that the position of a clamping sleeve has a one-to-one relationship with an adjustment mechanism and thereby enables controlled adjustment of clamping force to be performed. By arranging the adjustment mechanism at the one side of the clamping sleeve, replacement of a tool, for instance replacing of the clamping sleeve when using the drill tube of a large diameter, is facilitated.
