PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of improving contrast between an entire image and a local region of the image.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 110 includes an average value calculation part 1, an average value subtraction part 2, a frequency division part 40, a parameter determination part 11, a gain multiplication part 7, and a synthesis part 10. The average value calculation part 1 calculates an average value Yavg for an image plane of an input signal Yi. The average value subtraction part subtracts the average value Yavg from the input signal Yi, for generating an average value subtraction signal Ys. The frequency division part 40 generates component signals YL, YH, YMH, and YML by dividing the average value subtraction signal Ys, based on frequency. The parameter determination part 11 sets gain values corresponding to frequency regions, and sets a target value Ytgt based on the average value Yavg. The gain multiplication part 7 multiplies the component signals YL, YH, YMH, and YML by the gain values, for calculating a gain multiplication signal YgX. The synthesis part adds a signal, set based on the gain multiplication signal YgX, and the target value Ytgt. |
