<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive image reading apparatus, capable of enhancing the assemblability and maintainability by detecting a home position of a cleaning member without employing a sensor.SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus of the present invention typically includes: rollers 21 to 27 for feeding a manuscript one by one to let it pass through a reading position B; a scanner 40 for reading an image of the manuscript fed in the reading position B; a moving document reading glass 31 disposed between the manuscript fed in the reading position B and the scanner 40; a rotatable cleaning member 50 having a brush 50b for rubbing the moving document reading glass 31 for cleaning, and a shaft member 50a for fixing the brush 50b; and a control section 80 for detecting a home position of the cleaning member 50 on the basis of image information acquired from the scanner 40 when the cleaning member 50 is rotated.</p> |
