PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader device which makes it possible to reduce the device size and weight.SOLUTION: An image reader device 3 comprises a first support plate 101 and a second support plate 102. The second support plate 102 is provided with a protrusion 124 provided in a deflection part 125. When a contact glass 62 is supported by the first support plate 101 and the second support plate 102, the deflection part 125 is deformed so that the protrusion 124 moves backward, enabling a rear end of the contact glass 62 to get under the bottom face of the protrusion 124. Then, when the deformed deflection part 125 is restored, the protrusion 124 abuts on the top face at the rear end of the contact glass 62. As a result, a front end of the contact glass 62 is inserted into an insertion opening 108, and its movement to above the rear end is restricted by the bottom face of the protrusion 124, and, while in this state, the contact glass 62 is held in place by the first support plate 101 and the second support plate 102. |
