PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst structure, a cleanup unit, and a cleanup apparatus each capable of inducing an efficient progress of a photocatalytic reaction.SOLUTION: The provided cleanup unit 100 includes a semiconductor laser for emitting light and cleanup plates 11 through 14 for inducing photocatalytic reactions upon irradiations thereof with the light emitted from the semiconductor laser. The cleanup plates 11 through 14 each possess a substrate and a photocatalyst layer, whereas the photocatalyst layer is constituted by forming a photocatalytic material in an island pattern.
