PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch according to each user whether or not printing is executed in a state in which it is determined that there is no recording material.SOLUTION: A printing system includes storage means for storing permission information indicating that a user permits the execution of printing even in a state in which it is determined that there is no recording material. The printing system executes the printing when it is determined that there is no recording material but the permission information is stored indicating that a user who has instructed the printing permits the execution of the printing. On the other hand, when the permission information is not stored indicating that a user who has instructed the printing permits the execution of the printing, the printing system does not execute the printing in a state in which it is determined that there is no recording material.
