<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjusting device which is capable of eliminating excess or deficiency of the number of times of AF operations during consecutive photographing, in a range where the focusing degree of a photographed image causes no practical problem, and to provide a method for controlling the focus adjusting device, a program, and a storage medium.SOLUTION: In the method for controlling the focus adjusting device which performs controlling so that a scan operation for moving a focus lens in a set range and sequentially detecting focus evaluation values based on an imaging signal outputted from imaging means according to the movement is performed to move the focus lens to the focusing position of the focus lens where a subject image becomes in a focused state, based on the sequentially detected focus evaluation values, controlling is performed so that in consecutive photographing, when a distance between the next focusing position of the focus lens predicted based on the plurality of focusing positions of the focus lens and the present position of the focus lens is a first distance, the scan operation is not executed and when the distance is a second distance farther than the first distance, the scan operation is executed.</p> |
