The present invention relates to a filtration type water circulation apparatus and, more particularly, to a filtration type water circulation apparatus that includes a sludge storage tank below a filtering tank so as to accommodate sludge and backwash water which are generated during filter backwash, thereby smoothly performing a filter cleaning operation without discharging the backwash water outward, reducing maintenance costs, and allowing the system to have a compact configuration. The filtration type water circulation apparatus includes a filtering tank where a filter is formed so that a pollution source, which contains foreign substances consisting of organic and inorganic small lumps, is removed through a filter layer and a fluid is filtered cleanly; a first inflow path and a second inflow path where one or more valves are formed to be subjected to an opening/closing operation so that the fluid flows into the filtering tank in synchronization with an operation of a pump, which is a machine that transports the fluid by using a pressure action; a fluid discharge path where one or more valves are formed to be in opening/closing operation in synchronization with the opening/closing operation of the first inflow path and the second inflow path. The first inflow path and the fluid discharge path are opened during a water quality purification operation, and the first inflow path and the fluid discharge path are closed and the second inflow path is opened during the filter cleaning operation so that the fluid is supplied into the filter. The sludge storage tank, which has an attachable/detachable structure, is formed below the filtering tank, and opening/closing means that can be opened and closed is formed on an upper surface of the sludge storage tank, and thus the sludge and the backwash water which are generated during a filter backwash operation are accommodated and stored so that the backwash water is treated without being discharged outward.
