The present invention relates to an apparatus for diagnosing a fault of an LED lighting unit which enables a worker to identify whether a fault of the LED lighting unit is a fault of a power supply part or a fault of an LED module intuitively if a fault of the LED lighting unit occurs. The apparatus for diagnosing a fault of an LED lighting unit of the present invention includes a constant current SMPS making a constant current flow to each LED array of an LED module; an AND gate for checking a fault of the LED module by receiving each voltage signal on the last LED of a number of LED arrays connected in parallel; a control part for judging whether the fault is a fault of the power supply part or a fault of the LED module by receiving an output signal of the constant current SMPS and the AND gate; and a display part for displaying the fault of the power supply part and the LED module according to a control signal of the control part.
