Disclosed herein are n-ethylquinolone and n-ethylazaquinolone derivatives of formula (I) wherein A is non-aromatic nitrogen containing heterocyclic moiety, R5 is a pyrimidine heterocyclic substituent and the other substituents are as defined within the specification, processes for their preparation, compositions comprising said compounds and the use of the compounds in the treatment of bacterial infections.
