PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that adds a pattern in low density to an image in a saving mode so as to reduce consumption of toner and ink, while maintaining efficacy of the pattern to suppress copying.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has a pattern adding mode for adding a pattern to an image before printing the image, and a saving mode for printing an image in density lower than in a standard mode. The image forming apparatus includes means for determining whether or not the pattern adding mode is set, and means for determining whether or not the saving mode is set; and when the saving mode is determined to be set, the density of the pattern to be added to an image is lower than the density of the pattern added to an image when the saving mode is determined not to be set. |
