Disclosed is an image processing apparatus including a backlight unit consisting of a plurality of unit light sources placed in rows and columns; a driving unit changing the position of the head-up display according to a position change signal for an image of the head-up display; a control unit generating a light source control signal to change luminance of the unit light sources according to the changed position of the image of the head-up display; and a light source on/off control unit controlling on/off of the light sources using the light source control signal as an input signal.
