PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a capsule enabling an effective intake of the capsule by a surface plating film and affording favorable abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance as well as favorable contact reliability, a method for manufacturing a plating material including the capsule, and a plating material including the capsule.SOLUTION: In the provided method for manufacturing a capsule, an outer wall 1 consisting of a resin or inorganic material is formed on the surface of each lubricant oil droplet 2 dispersed by using a nonionic surfactant yielding an intramolecular hydrophilic block formula weight sum of 1300 or less and having a HLB value of 11 or above as calculated by the Griffin method so as to realize an average capsule diameter of 1μm or less. A method for manufacturing a plating material including the capsule and a plating material including the capsule are also provided.
