PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect scattering light without cost increase in a case of providing a liquid-droplet discharge-state detection device for detecting states of liquid droplets discharged from nozzles in two or more nozzle arrays.SOLUTION: A liquid-droplet discharge-state detection device for detecting liquid discharge states by scattering light generated by striking a light beam on liquid droplets discharged from nozzles constituting two or more nozzle arrays, includes: light emitting means for emitting the light beam; and light receiving means arranged at a position deviated from within a beam diameter of the light beam from the light emitting means. The light emitting means is arranged so that an optical axis of the light beam from the light emitting means shifts toward the nozzle array having a greater angle formed between a direction in which the scattering light is irradiated onto the light receiving means from positions at which the liquid droplets are discharged and the optical axis of the light beam from the light emitting means, with reference to a center of the nozzle array having a smaller angle formed therebetween and the nozzle array having the greater angle formed therebetween. |
