PURPOSE: A face image obtaining method for face detection and recognition and a device thereof are provided to correct and register a face by recognizing and extracting the face from an image by distance so that the face is matched with a face size corresponding to a specific distance. CONSTITUTION: A camera unit (710) obtains an image including a face of a user. A face recognizing unit (716) recognizes the face from the image through face recognition algorithm. A face extracting unit extracts a feature point about the recognized face.
