Class 109 A rope tightening and snubbing device 8 comprises a beam member 9 having a large diameter drum 10 substantially at its mid-region to receive, the main rope load 19, a smaller drum 11 at one end of the beam 9 to receive the reduced load in one side of the loop portion 6a, 6b of the rope 6, and a rope attachment terminal 12 at the other -end of the beam 9. The beam may be composed of two side plates 9 having the drums 10, 11 which may be provided by coacting inwardly directed circular dished projections 14, 15 formed in the side plates 9, fastened together by rivets 16, 17, between them. One of the side plates 9 may be formed with a bent piece or clip 13 to engage the rope when the device 8 is in the secured position. |
