The warhead (10) has an explosive load (E) and a metal fragment generator intended to break under effect of detonation of an explosive to form fragments. The generator includes an open honeycomb metal structure e.g. solid foam type open honeycomb metal structure, including a network of communicating cavities communicating between the generator and the metal structure, and with outside of the explosive load. The explosive load is inserted in the communicating cavities. The generator surrounds firing units. The explosive load is made of trinitrotoluene. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a metallic load (2) a method for manufacturing a warhead.
