An objective of the present invention is to provide a paste application device and a paste application method with which the application height of glass paste can be appropriately maintained within a predetermined error range. At a part where a starting end portion (101S) is formed from a starting point (Ps) of a nozzle (55a), the nozzle (55a) is moved with the nozzle height (Nh) being lower than a reference application height (StdH). At a part where a terminal end portion (101E) is formed to an end point (Pe) of the nozzle (55a), the nozzle (55a) is moved with the nozzle height (Nh) being higher than the reference application height (StdH). At a part other than the part where the starting end portion (101S) is formed and the part where the terminal end portion (101E) is formed, the nozzle (55a) is moved with the nozzle height (Nh) being the reference application height (StdH) and the nozzle (55a) is moved so that glass paste (Gp) is overlapped on at least a part of the starting end portion (101S) and the terminal end portion (101E). |
