The present invention relates to a method of deforming an image. A method of deforming an image based on a deformation axis according to the present invention includes steps of deforming the deformation axis in consideration of deformation energy of a plurality of predetermined dots according to the deformation of at least one deformation axis including the dots, on an image to be deformed; and deforming the image by using a plurality of segments of the deformation axis split based on the dot of the deformed deformation axis. According to the present invention, since the method of deforming the image based on the deformation axis is performed based on a freeform deformation axis independent of the type of an original object, it is more useful and may be used in combination with typical various deformation methods. Also, since the deformation of the image is intuitive and may be performed in real time, general users may easily use the method.
