<p>The disclosure relates to fibre-based panels with wear resistant surface layers for building panels, preferably floor panels. Particularly disclosed is a method of manufacturing a wear resistant surface layer comprising the steps of: (a) applying a dry powder layer comprising a mix of refined fibres being predominantly free from natural resins, a synthetic thermosetting resin, pigments and aluminium oxide particles on a wood fibre based core; and (b) curing the sublayer and the dry powder layer by applying heat and pressure on the layers, wherein the dry powder layer is cured to a wear resistant surface layer, wherein the wear resistant surface layer is attached to the wood fibre based core to obtain a panel such as a floor panel.</p> |
