Disclosed are a photovoltaic power control apparatus and a method thereof. A power control apparatus which quickly carries out maximum power point tracking includes a charge part which measures each terminal voltage and charge current of storage batteries and provides measured terminal voltage and charge current information, and a control part which charges each storage battery with power corresponding to the provided terminal voltage and charge current. Therefore, energy storage efficiency can be improved even when the charge and discharge of the storage battery are simultaneously carried out.
