FIELD: physics, control.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to means of controlling at least one process occurring in a safety-related system. Disclosed is a method of monitoring a safety-related system using a monitoring device which is provided for monitoring the safety-related system, the method comprising: selecting a first process from a plurality of processes executed on the monitoring device, generating a call by the first process; transmitting the call to a device making up at least part of the safety-related system; selecting a second process from a plurality of processes executed on the safety-related system; calculating, through the second process, a processing result by applying at least one predefined function to the call; transmitting, through the second process, the processing result to the first process; verifying, by the first process, the processing result calculated by the second process with the processing result calculated by the first process, wherein the processing result calculated by the first process applies the same at least one predefined function; and evaluating the safety-related system as being in a safe state if the processing result calculated by the first process and the processing result calculated by the second process match.EFFECT: enabling flexible and generalised certification of safety-related systems.11 cl, 2 dwg |
