A controller for controlling a switch that transfers a message, the controller being provided with: a holding means for associating and holding a tag and a virtual address when a notification that includes the tag is received from a second node for subscribing to a message delivered by a first node, the message having the tag appended thereto, and associating and holding the virtual address and the physical address of the second node that has sent the notification; a setting means whereby the association between the virtual address and the physical address is set in the switch; and a tag resolution means for acknowledging the virtual address upon receiving a query for the virtual address associated with the tag from the first node. The latency between the message being transmitted by the publisher and the message being received by the subscriber is reduced.
