PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heater that is able to restrict squeeze-out of lubricant, applied to the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical film, from an end of the film and also restrict flow of the lubricant toward the inside in the direction of the rotation axis of the film.SOLUTION: The open end of a cylindrical film 17 projects in the direction of the rotation axis of a rotor 13 from the end of the rotor 13, which forms a nip between the peripheral face of the film 17 and the rotor 13 by being firmly pressed against the firm contact member 20 via the film 17. An end film guide 15 supporting the open end of the film 17 has a groove extending downstream in the rotating direction of the film 17 from the contact part between film 17 and the firm contact member 20, in an area located in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the film 17 in an area outside the contact area of the open end of the film 17 with the rotor 13 in the direction of the rotation axis, on a slide surface 18 located in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the open end of the film 17 so as to freely slide over the inner peripheral surface. |
