摘要 <p>A parallel boost voltage power supply (200) with local energy storage (260) comprises a local energy storage (260) and a local energy storage boost converter (270) that boosts the voltage of the local energy storage (260) and provides it to existing DC bulk storage circuitry (230). Diodes (370,371) in series with the boost converter (270) and an existing power factor correction boost converter (220) enable the DC bulk storage circuitry (230) to receive power from both the local energy storage (260) and external power sources. Transition between local energy storage (260) and external power sources is performed in a controlled manner to avoid overloading external power sources. Additionally, local energy storage devices (310) are recharged from an existing isolation transformer circuit (240) in the power supply if the power being drawn from external sources is below a threshold. Operation without external power is extended via communications with server computing devices (398) resulting in decreased power consumption by deactivating components or throttling down processors.</p>
