PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission that can reliably control movement to an axial direction of a trunnion, without increasing the size of a cylinder body.SOLUTION: A drive unit 32 for displacing a trunnion 15 in an axial direction of a trunnion shaft 15b includes a cylinder body 31, and a piston 33 provided in the cylinder body 31 and connected to the trunnion shaft 15b. A displacement amount of the trunnion 15 in the axial direction of the trunnion shaft 15b is controlled by that the trunnion 15 comes into abutment with the cylinder body 31, and is not controlled by a yoke as in a conventional manner, so that a gap between the piston 33 and the cylinder body 31 is not necessarily increased. Accordingly, the movement to the axial direction of the trunnion 15 can reliably be controlled without increasing the size of the cylinder body 31. |
