A control apparatus (10) is provided with: a detecting unit (110) that detects infrared radiated from the human body; a state signal generating unit (120) that generates, corresponding to an intensity change of the infrared detected by means of the detecting unit (110), a state signal that includes a first state signal component indicating that the human body is in proximity to the detecting unit (110) and/or a second state signal component indicating that the human body is at a distance from the detecting unit (110); and a control unit (130), which starts external control in the cases where the first state signal component is detected from the state signal generated by means of the state signal generating unit (120), and which stops the external control in the cases where the second state signal component is detected from the state signal. |
