<p>A display apparatus (1) is provided with: a display unit (2), which has a backlight unit (4) having a backlight divided into a plurality of blocks, and a backlight light quantity detecting unit (3) that detects and outputs light quantities of the backlight divided into the blocks; a backlight control unit (5), which calculates light quantity ratios on the basis of the backlight light quantities of respective blocks, said light quantities having been inputted from the backlight light quantity detecting unit (3), and which calculates backlight drive quantities of the backlight of respective blocks on the basis of the light quantity ratios thus calculated; and a backlight drive unit (6) that drives, corresponding to the backlight drive quantities thus calculated by means of the backlight control unit (5), the backlight divided into the blocks. The backlight control unit (5) sets, as reference light quantity ratios, the backlight light quantity ratios of the respective blocks, said light quantity ratios having been adjusted such that luminance unevenness is minimum in the display unit (2), and on the basis of the light quantity ratios and the reference light quantity ratios thus calculated, the backlight control unit adjusts the backlight light quantities of respective blocks.</p> |
