A blowing up device i.e. gas generator, includes a flexible guide element for expanding the cushion. The flexible guide element conducts the guard cushion in an early stage of expansion into a desired direction. The flexible guide element is designed as inflatable casing and extended parallel to one of the side walls of the receptacle housing in expanded effect position. The guide element is presented in the guard cushion.
