The turbocharger has rotor shaft (1) comprising widened end portion provided at continuous bore of housing (3) in the compressor (2), to receive pressurizable oil hydrodynamic axial thrust bearing (6,13) of the shaft. The compressor side is lockable by a lid (5), such that hole for shaft is closed by socket located on the shaft seal sleeve (12). The shaft is concentric and is adapted to be plunged towards an open annular duct (5') in the lid and is communicated with oil sump (18) arranged in the housing.
