A method for operating a two-bladed windmill equipped with a rotor containing two blades and a hub to which the two blades are attached, said method being equipped with: a pitch angle adjustment step wherein the pitch angle of the two blades is adjusted during a windstorm such that the chords of the two blades run in a direction orthogonal to the rotation plane of the rotor; and a rotor maintenance step wherein the rotor is maintained at an azimuth angle at which the two blades align in the horizontal direction.
