PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wear of a seal part 60 and prevent leakage of cooling water 50 for a long time, in a rotary joint 1 including a mechanical seal 30, and the seal part 60 for preventing the leakage of the cooling water 50 for the mechanical seal 30.SOLUTION: A mechanical seal 30 includes: a first seal ring 31 mounted on a block portion 22 of a joint body 20 in a state that it cannot be rotated; a second seal ring 32 integrally rotatably mounted on a rotating shaft 10; and a spring 28 for axially pressing the first seal ring 31 toward the second seal ring 32. A seal member 60 having a seal lip slidably kept into contact with an outer peripheral face of the second seal ring 32 composed of silicon carbide, is mounted at an inner peripheral side of a cylindrical portion 23 of the joint body 20, and an annular flow channel 51 for allowing the cooling water 50 for cooling the mechanical seal 30, is formed at the inner peripheral side of the cylindrical portion 23. |
