PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pre-treatment device capable of suppressing excessive consumption of regenerated energy by effectively using an adsorbent and handling the case of carbon dioxide in air far exceeding a design value.SOLUTION: A pre-treatment device 2, for use in supplying an air separation apparatus 3 separating oxygen and nitrogen from a raw material gas, includes: first and second adsorption towers 4a, 4b for removing HO, CO, and NO from air by passing through the air; and an NO sensor 5 for measuring density of NO contained in a gas passing in one of the first and second adsorption towers 4a, 4b. Further, the adsorption towers are switched over if the density of NO measured by the NO sensor 5 reaches a specified value.
