A drive train for a motor vehicle comprises an internal combustion engine which has at least one combustion cylinder for generating a drive moment, wherein the drive moment has rotational variations which are caused by a combustion operation in the at least one combustion cylinder, a crankshaft which can be driven by the at least one combustion cylinder for transmitting the drive moment, and a non-ignited damping cylinder which is coupled to the crankshaft and interacts with an energy store system for compensating for the rotational variations, wherein mechanical energy can be stored in the energy store system via the damping cylinder in case of torque peaks of the drive moment which are caused by the rotational variations, while mechanical energy can be output from the energy store system via the damping cylinder in case of torque valleys of the drive moment which are caused by the rotational variations. Rotational variations of the torque generated by an internal combustion engine can thus be damped using a compact design. |
