PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform sound collection with high quality while tracking a sound source, and also to reduce a communication load.SOLUTION: A sound collection system 1 includes multiple slave units 10A-10N and a host device 1 (a master unit), and the multiple slave units 10A-10N and the host device 1 are connected by a communication cable 30. Each one of the slave units 10A-10N respectively includes multiple microphones MICa-MICm. Each one of the slave units 10A-10N selects a sound collection signal with the maximum power among the sound collection signals MICa-MICm of the microphones and transmits the signal to the host device 1 as a slave unit sound signal. In this case, the slave units 10A-10N transmit level information of the sound collection signal with the maximum power, i.e. a slave unit sound signal to the host device 1 together with the slave sound signal. The host device 1 compares the level information of the respective slave units 10A-10N, selects the slave unit sound signal corresponding to the level information at the maximum level, and defines the signal as a tracking sound signal. |
