PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a signal processing amount or its arithmetic amount necessary to detect a state change in a radio channel and to give notice of it.SOLUTION: A radio communication device comprises: a power detecting unit for detecting whether the power value of a reception signal received at a radio channel is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value or not; a signal analyzing unit for detecting whether a predetermined specific signal is included in the reception signal or not if the power detecting unit detected that the power value of the reception signal is equal to or more than the threshold value; and a control unit that determines that the radio channel is in an idle state if the power detecting unit detects that the power value of the reception signal is not equal to or more than the threshold value, determines that the radio channel is in an idle state if the power detecting unit detects that the power value of the reception signal is equal to or more than the threshold value and the signal analyzing unit detects that the specific signal is not included in the reception signal, and performs control to have a transmission unit transmit a radio signal when the time of the radio channel being in the idle state becomes equal to or more than a transmission waiting time.
