PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause a power converter for a vehicle to stably and reliably perform power conversion by stably and continuously cooling the power converter.SOLUTION: A cooling device 4 is a device for cooling a power converter 3 for a vehicle, which has a heating part 13 having a power conversion circuit 12, and comprises: heat dissipation means 20 which dissipates heat generated in the heating part; outside air supply means which supplies outside air A to the heat dissipation means; a vortex tube 22 which generates a swirling air flow in the inner part by compressed air supplied from a compressed air generation source, separates the swirling air flow into cool air C and warm air H, and supplies the cool air to the heat dissipation means; and a control unit which controls operation of the vortex tube and the outside air supply means. The control unit starts supplying the cool air by the vortex tube, when the amount of the outside air supplied by the outside air supply means is reduced. |
