The present invention relates to an assembly of a male terminal and a female terminal (100), the female terminal (100) consisting of an elongated box-shaped body having : - a front opening (108) for insertion of the male terminal, and - a longitudinal axis which spreads along the longest dimension of the elongated body, and a width transversal to the longitudinal axis, - a contact point (112) frictionally encountering the male terminal, and - a retention arm (126) frictionally encountering the male terminal. The contact point (112) and the retention arm (126) are spaced apart in a width direction. The contact point (112) with the male terminal is the frontmost contact point between the male terminal and the female terminal (100) along the line along which the contact point (112) encounters the male terminal.
