The method involves connecting a first feeding arrangement with a second feeding arrangement such that packaging material (1) is conveyed to a conveying direction (6) along a conveying path through a strap band (3). A label (4) is attached to a tape in a position, which does not traverse the conveying path. Supply of the tape is restrained. The packaging material is promoted in the conveying direction such that an uneven tape supplying the label to a front side of the material is dragged. The feeding arrangements are attached together on a back part (21) of the material.
